“Selamat di Jalan” Road Safety Programme

PLUS Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PMSB) promotes the “Selamat di Jalan” programme, which aims to educate and promote road safety awareness amongst school children with the involvement of PLUS staff as the driving force behind the programme.

The rationale behind “Selamat di Jalan”

  • The phrase originates from “Selamat Jalan” which means “Have a Safe Journey”. It evokes the feeling of wellbeing, care and concern as well as projects a positive message to the public.
  • At the same time, the phrase also cautions people to be safe and take responsibility for their actions on the road.
  • The paraphrasing “Selamat di Jalan” will therefore further associate PMSB with safety. The constant reinforcement of the message demonstrates that PMSB is indeed very serious about the safety of all road users.
  • Road Safety Education is a life-long process and should begin with the young in schools, so that safety becomes ingrained into youth culture.
  • As such, our main target recipients are school children between the age of 10 to 15 years old:

Primary school: Standard 4 to 6
Secondary school: Form 1 to 3

  • As outlined in the Silver Book, CSR programmes should target under served and under developed markets and communities. Thus the selected schools will be chosen from rural and sub-urban areas throughout the country, especially those within the PLUS section office locations.

Charity or CSR on Social Media

Social Media

One reason why Social Media is one of the fastest growing ways to communicate with a target audience, is that it is free! This is great news for organizations with limited budgets, however, because the Social Media scene is changing so rapidly it can be confusing. So if you are frightened by facebook, terrified of twitter, lost on Linked-In or yet to take advantage of You Tube then contact ANGEL HEART PR for a basic Social Media package to help get you started.

The Social Media starter package includes:

  • Creation of a company facebook page, twitter feed and Linked-In profile and You Tube Channel
  • Initial facebook, twitter & Linked-In posts
  • Training so your staff can update the Social Media Sites and grow followers
  • Social Media telephone support

For further information on ANGEL HEART PR's Social Media Starter Package please contact Elly Suraya Azman on 603-4270 3464

ANGEL HEART PR : Organizing Charity Events

The Pink Charity Run
Date: 30 October 2011 (188 days ago)
Venue: Harbour Place, Malaysia
Distance: 5km, 10km
Website: http://www.themarathonshop.com.my/events/pinkcharityrun2011/

*A sea of people in pink

*The performers are breast cancer survivors, strong women

*This is where the marathoners will go to after they finish the race, to register their numbers, according to their categories

*The finishing line, looking through the list of sponsors, explains the bunch of goodies in that pink bag

*Medal for winners

how ANGEL HEART PR do?

Step 1

Assemble a steering committee to outline the broad goals of the project. The job of the committee is to approve the general parameters of the event, what charity or charities should benefit, and what roles each committee member will play going forward.

Choose a fund-raising model. We either charge an entry fee for each participant or allow participants to collect individual sponsors who commit to donations at the completion of the event. Set a minimum level of sponsored donations for each participant.

Step 3

Contact organizations who have sponsored charity walk-athons or walk/run race. Use their contact lists to get in touch with companies who provide seating and scaffolding, any necessary sound equipment and insurance. Enter into contracts with these vendors for their event.

Step 4

Call the charities that will benefit from the event, and use any resources they may be able to offer. They might agree to supply the printing for brochures or logo t-shirts to give the participants. We'll need to minimize the costs of the event in order to maximize the final donation tally, so using existing charity resources is a good first step.

Step 5

Outline a route, and then contact local law enforcement to work out the necessary permits. You may also need to involve homeowners' associations if your event passes through residential neighborhoods. Secure the permits and permission for a long enough period to set up, complete and break down the event.

Step 6

Visit any businesses along the route, and ask them to donate merchandise or money in exchange for a mention on signage or in printed material.

Step 7

Schedule deliveries on the day of the event well in advance of the start time. Bleachers, scaffolding, a start/finish line, signage and concessions should be set up and ready a minimum of one hour before the start of the event.

Website & social media development by ANGEL HEART PR

ANGEL HEART PR is proud to help developing charity websites & social media network like 'HATI' at http://www.hati.org.my, so that they can better reach donors and continue to raise awareness.

*Hati.org.my official website

Hati.org.my is a non-profit web-portal on Malaysian charities, non-profit non-governmental organisations and underprivileged communities. We hope that one day HATI will be the “central station” for all things community related, where charities, NGOs, under-privileged communities, donors, sponsors and support groups can link up effectively.

*Hati.org.my official facebook

*Hati.org.my twitter page

  • We provide information on charities and non-profit organisations in Malaysia online. We enable smaller charities to be highlighted, particularly those who are too busy caring for their dependents and therefore have little time to publicise their needs.
  • We promote volunteerism in Malaysia to encourage the spirit of caring and connecting with the under-privileged.
  • In the future ,we hope that Hati.org.my will be a central information exchange where NGOs, charities, support groups, donors, sponsors and volunteers can communicate with each other, and work towards the common cause of helping the less-privileged.

Why Use PR?

Why use PR? Because it is good for your charity

Public relations is essential because it helps a charity promote its services, which in turn brings in donations and ultimately allows the charity to keep on doing its good work.

A tailored PR service that works in tandem with other parts of your charity's marketing can get your message to the eyes and ears of your key audience. Public relations which work seamlessly can deliver real benefits and will make your money go further.

For example, one of our charity clients, Glaucoma Kids, saw visits to their website double due to a TV appearance and Media Prima (TV3) saw visits to theirwww saveursight.com.my website triple following one of our PR campaigns.

And PR is not just good for website hits – it can also be good for the purse strings in the long run. So, with that knowledge and experience in the bank, why would you look further than ANGEL HEART public relations?

PR for Turtle Conservation Centre Malaysia

Angel Heart PR regularly works with Turtle Conservation Centre to publicise their work, including their sanctuary, education and research projects.

Coverage has been obtained in a variety of media. For example, a press release on launching poster project of " Say 'NO' to turtle egg " through daily newspaper and media coverage.

Angel heart PR has worked with a wide range of charities and social enterprises, including the following:

What We Do

PR

At ANGEL HEART PR, we treat public relations as a specialty — not as a sideshow or afterthought to the big-budget advertising campaign. This commitment to PR is reflected not only in the quality of our work, but also in the integrity and professionalism of our news team, excellent reputation with editors and proven track record in the field.
100% of our business is on charities, CSR and related fields. The most important, we pursue it with a great deal of experience and enthusiasm.
Why do you need a public relations program? Because PR presents your story as news, not paid promotion. Your audience recognizes that your message has passed through the hands of unbiased editors and news directors. It’s therefore more believable, influential and motivational.
At ANGEL HEART PR, we develop PR campaigns that promote charities, sponsorship, raise awareness in CSR, educate peoples and prospects and build corporate identity.
And when the going gets tough, ANGEL HEART PR can craft carefully worded communications such as news releases, standby statements, Q&As, advertorials, and customer and employee letters to address sensitive issues.
